PRe|POST PROCEDURE

Pre Care

Proper care following your procedure is necessary to achieve the best results. Keep in mind that in many cases, some unevenness of color is to be expected. This is the purpose of the follow-up visit. Please review the following directions and refer to them as necessary. If, during your healing process, you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.

All permanent cosmetic procedures are multi-session processes. You are required to come back for at least one follow-up visit before it can be determined that your work is complete. Follow-up visits are scheduled at 4-6 week intervals or longer.
Be prepared for the color intensity of your procedure to be significantly sharper, brighter, or darker than what is expected for the final outcome. It will take time for this transition, based upon how quickly the outer layer of your skin exfoliates.
While these tattooed colors may initially simulate the exact color and tone desired, they will not always remain a perfect match. Tattooed colors are constant, while your own skin color will vary depending on exposure to cold, heat, sun & circulatory changes.

  • Since delicate skin and sensitive areas tend to swell slightly or develop redness, some clients feel it is best not to make any social plans for one-two days following any procedures. Since every person heals in their own time, procedures could take longer than expected from person to person.
  • Plan on wearing your every day makeup and bring your lip colors or brow pencils to the office on the day of the procedure.
  • Any tweezing or waxing should be done at least 48 hours prior to the procedure date and time; laser or photofacials no less than five days before. Do not resume any method of hair removal for at least two weeks prior to the procedure.
  • Any eyelash or eyebrow tinting or eyelash curling should be done no sooner than 48 hours before, or two weeks after the procedure.
  • Do not wear contact lenses during or immediately following the eyeliner procedure. Remember to bring your glasses. You may resume wearing your contact lenses as soon as your eyes return to their pre-tattooed condition.
  • LIPS if you are having lip procedures and have a history of cold sores/fever blisters/herpes simplex, you will be required to contact your physician to obtain the proper prescription to prevent possible outbreaks. It is recommended to take any medications 7 days prior to scheduled procedure & 7 days following the procedure. DISCLAIMER: Check with your physician for proper use of any prescribed medications.
  • BOTOX  - Botox injections need to be done at least 2 weeks before or after any microblade or any other cosmetic tattooing procedures.
  • FILLERS- Fillers of all kinds need to be done at least 4 weeks before or after any microblade or any other cosmetic tattooing procedures.
  • Refrain from the use of alcohol, aspirin, aspirin-containing medications, ibuprofen, or other blood thinning medications for 7 days before & 2 days after any procedure. DISCLAIMER: NO MEDICATIONS SHOULD BE STOPPED WITHOUT FIRST CONSULTING YOUR PHYSICIAN.

Post Care

  • Cold gel packs or Ice packs protected with a cloth may be applied as necessary to reduce swelling. Sleeping slightly elevated can help alleviate swelling upon viewing the morning after facial procedures. This can vary from person to person.
  • Wash your hands before touching any treated areas. Cotton-tipped applicators may be used to gently cleanse the eye area. Do not expose the area to dirty or unsanitary conditions. Wearing glasses outdoors is a good way to protect new eyeliner from dust, etc., that can stick to healing agents. Apply recommended healing agents sparingly.
  • Some itching is normal. DO NOT PICK, PEEL, OR SCRATCH the treated area or your color may heal unevenly and you risk scarring and infection.
  • No make-up is to be applied for 72 hours after the procedure. After any eyeliner procedure, use new mascara. Do not us an eyelash curler for two weeks.
  • Do not expose your healing skin to direct sunlight, tanning beds, hot tubs, (tub baths if body treated area), saunas, salt water, chlorinated pools, direct shower spray, hot water, skin creams, ointments, or lotions other than what you have been instructed to use 2 weeks following your procedure.
  • After a lip procedure, keep your lips moist at all times. Avoid spicy foods or heat. If using herpes medication, continue as prescribed. Do not use teeth bleaching products until fully healed.

Long Term Care

Use a good sunscreen daily-even lips require protection. Sun exposure and tanning beds will fade your permanent cosmetics and may cause irritation later. If your are planning chemical exfoliation, MRI, or other medical procedure, please inform your physician of your cosmetic tattoo. If you donate blood, it is the American Red Cross policy that you must wait one year after any tattooing procedure in unregulated states-check if restrictions apply to you.
